What is Face Yoga?

Just as we benefit from exercising the muscles in  our body, the 57 muscles in the face and neck also benefit from exercise. As they become stronger  through exercise, they become lifted and firmed, and the attached skin also becomes firmer and taughter, reducing signs of ageing and tension.

Face yoga is a combination of facial exercises, facial massage and facial acupressure and as well as improving the appearance of the skin, it’s a great well-being technique.

You can learn face yoga online or in person, through a group class, workshop or a one to one session. Group classes are fun (we pull lots of silly faces!) and you will learn a workout for the upper and lower face as well as various massage and acupressure techniques which you can then add into your daily and weekly skincare routine. One to one sessions are tailored to your specific needs and I’ll devise a bespoke routine for you and then follow up with you a few weeks later to discuss how you’re getting on with it.

How long will it take to see results from Face Yoga?

You’ll feel and see some benefits straight away. Your face may feel as though it’s had a workout (just like with body exercise), you’ll feel a reduction in tension and you’ll have a rosy glow.

As everyone’s faces and lifestyle is different, the amount of time it takes to see more permanent changes will vary from person to person. As a general rule, if you practise daily, you’ll start to see some more long term changes after 2-4 weeks. After 2 -4 months you’ll notice you have fewer fine lines and less tension, and people will start to notice you look healthier and more energised. After 6 – 9 months people have reported that they look and feel years younger, and feel more relaxed and energised.
